Jenny Arnott

I love her work! ahh its so cute, i want it all. I had one of those ‘how did i not know you exsited’ moments. Her work is modern and ‘in’ with the kitch trends that are everywhere at th moment, but of course her’s are different as they are handmade and all lovely! With a background in printed and embroidered textiles, Jenny Arnott is a designer-maker based in the picturesque Somerset countryside. She creates exquisite handmade textiles and accessories, including beautiful embroidered cushions, bags and buttons, as well as digitally printed canvases, prints, stationery and greetings cards.

The illustrative, pictorial style of her work is endearingly charming and uses a combination of freehand machine embroidery and appliqué to layer and stitch fabrics together. Jenny’s love of hoarding and collecting has created a treasure trove of colourful and interesting fabrics to work with, from pretty floral patterns to ginghams, stripes and polka dots, all of which feature frequently in her designs.

Inspiration for designs can be eclectic, with ideas originating in all sorts of things and places:
Russian dolls, vintage china, flowers, flamingos, the seaside, pressed glass, fair isle knitting, walking in the park, fairground rides, old red buses, mismatched teacups and pretty painted houses, to name just a few. Incorporating such a diversity of influences, the collection brings an exciting freshness and a quirky charm to contemporary textile design

Im making the pumpkin bag this year, ahah excited!
