New Term.

I knew that we were going to start a new project at the beginning of this term, but i didnt realise that they wanted us to start preparing through the Christmas Holidays, obviously not have seen the blackboard handouts, i had to start a new today and try and think of 3 objects I wanted to study for 10 weeks.

The project was object picking three objects that you wished to study. They didnt have to connect, they could be 3 completly different pieces and you make them connect in your own way. At first i had NO idea what i wanted to do, seriously, what can keep me interested for that long and still inspire me? But the theme we had was Traditional and/or contemporary. Im pretty certain i would like to go with traditional pieces and try and show them in a contemporary way? I quite liked the idea of that. But after a little thinking of what i would like to do, i came up with these objects.

  • Welsh love spoons (St Fagans)
  • Lotus foot binding shoes (Pitt Rivers)
  • China ornament (Family heirloom)
  • Perfume bottles (Found in a charity shop!)

Okay, there are the four that i genuinely would like to study about, most like it will be the furst, second and forth ones.

This post is pretty much pointless, but it helps getting it written down! First thing first is to research some inspiration and get some drawings done!
